Apply for the AER Dependent Child Scholarship. The AER Scholarship for dependent children was renamed the Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Fund in honor of his distinguished life of service to soldiers and families. The Major General James Ursano Army Dependent Children application period is January 1st to April 1st, 2024.
This scholarship helps children of soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degree. Applicants may receive assistance for up to four academic years but must meet eligibility criteria and reapply each year.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be a DEERS registered dependent child of Active Duty or retired soldier, or Soldiers who died on Active Duty or while retired, or National Guard and reserve soldiers on Title 10 orders for the full academic year.
Applicant must not be a member of any military branch or enrolled at a military academy.
Children must be enrolled full-time for the entire academic year and under the age of 24.
Must maintain 2.0 cumulative GPA.
