MWR Star is an initiative to recognize exemplary employees in MWR. People who go above and beyond to assist MWR customers and their co-workers. One individual is chosen monthly to be featured as our star, spotlighting details about themselves and their position within MWR.
1. How long have you worked for MWR?
I have been working for MWR for over 6 years.
2. What do you do for MWR?
I am the Management Assistant to the Chief of the Recreation Division. I perform administrative tasks in support of the division – personnel, payroll, and correspondence – and so much more.
3. Where are you from?
I am from Cooksville, Maryland - A small town nestled amongst farmland between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
4. What do you enjoy doing in your off time?
Time off, what’s that? Just kidding. My favorite place to be is at the beach with my family, even in winter. I spend spare time reading, binging Netflix series, and crocheting. I recently finished a cross stitching print for the first time – now I’m hooked.
5. What are some words of wisdom that you would like to share?
Share knowledge. Impart wisdom. Make time to listen. Don’t stress. Stay positive. Grow yourself.
6. What do you enjoy about working for MWR?
My favorite part of work is people. Meeting new employees, helping patrons who visit our office, assisting managers and peers – this makes my day more enjoyable. Being able to build and foster those relationships is certainly a bonus.
