As a volunteer you will assist staff in all phases of horse and pony care. Volunteers will water, hay, and grain as directed in stalls, groom, saddle, shampoo, exercise, lead in/out of pasture, muck out stalls, move feed and hay, and observe horses for injury. Volunteers also must be able to mow grass, assist in removal of debris from pastures, playgrounds, barn and stable grounds, cleaning tack, clean water tubs, and assist staff in minor stable repairs. In addition, volunteers will assist customers by helping them mount horses or walk ponies, explaining trail system and rules, locating lost or injured riders, and serve as a back trail guide for the ride outs when requested. Other duties include setting up for special events, walking ponies on the pony walker, working on games, setting up and breaking down of birthday parties and youth camps.
