Fishing Events
Bass & Crappie Fishing Tournaments
Tournaments are hosted by the Fort Eisenhower Sportsman's Club and held at Daylight to Noon at Butler Reservoir and boats are needed. Electric motors only – combustion engines are not allowed. Outdoor Recreation has aluminum jon boats with electric motors for rent (see the Outdoor Equipment Checkout page for more details). Cost to participate is $15 per person. Prize for 1st place ( 2nd Place if Over 12 competitors). No advance registration required – registration is one hour before tournament starts. Fort Eisenhower permit and Georgia Fishing Licenses required.
Kids' Fishing Derbies
Twice a year and Open to the Public, Fort Eisenhower Outdoor Recreation and the Fort Eisenhower Sportsman's Club hosts two kids' Fishing Derbies in conjunction with national Fishing day in June and National Hunting and Fishing Day in September. Trophies are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of 4 age groups for the most weight in pounds caught. A free hot dog lunch is provided to for all children. Live bait is provided. Bring your own pole or rod and reel (limit one rod per child).
